BERTI BENBANASTE
My interest in aerial photography began with the availability of modern day drones. The first time I flew a DJI Phantom 2 it helped me see the world from a different lens, from an elevated view of the world underneath me. My fascination with colors and abstract patterns grew from that moment on. During my expeditions, I look for abstract art forms and qualities of minimalism.
The Drone Production and Cinematography class at the Academy of Art University introduced me to new form of media production that pushes the boundaries of photography, journalism and cinematography.
After spending the last 15 years of my life in Charlottesville, New York, London, Barcelona, Paris and Istanbul, I moved to San Francisco and draw inspiration from this great city. I enjoy traveling into deep nature and exploring unique locations for my shots. I speak English, Turkish and Spanish.
